Why I Love Marcia Clark

June 19, 2012

No, she didn’t come away victorious in her prosecution of O.J back in the day, and the jurors were said to find her abrasive and off putting. I, on the other hand, find her riveting.

Take the way she keeps changing her look.

During the O.J. trial, she was Curly Marcia.

Then she went blonde.

Then she adopted the sleeker look she’s sporting now.

The woman has reinvented herself more often than Madonna, but what I love most about her is her articulateness, if that’s even a word.

As a frequent legal contributor to CNN, she’s been a regular on AC 360, along with defense attorney Mark Geragos, talking about the Sandusky trial, and I’m always mesmerized by how fast and furiously she speaks. She never says “um” or “you know” or “like” but rather presents her views in complete sentences, with great passion and conviction, even when backed into a corner. That’s a gift, if you ask me.

Could Someone Explain The Appeal Of The Casey Anthony Trial???

June 27, 2011

I was addicted to the OJ trial. I watched it live during the day and dissected it again at night. I knew everything there was to know about the prosecutors, the defense lawyers, the families, even the media covering the trial. And yet, as I turn on the news these days and hear about people lining up outside the courtroom to get inside the Casey Anthony trial, I’m mystified. Why does anyone care about this woman?

The OJ trial had such interesting characters – from the guy who was walking his dog to the most famous house guest of all time; from Marcia Clark to F. Lee Bailey; from Kato Kaelin to Faye Resnick. Plus there was an intersection of the worlds of true crime, Hollywood and sports.

As far as I can tell, the current trial features a skanky woman who lies and her two parents who lie. And I’m supposed to be fascinated why?

It’s terribly sad that a little girl is dead, but someone please explain the fascination with this particular case. Thank you.
