He may have gray hair nowadays, but Brian Roberts proved tonight that he can still deliver in the clutch. His homer to put the Yanks ahead of the Angels was a nice surprise. Too bad Kuroda didn’t get the win, because he pitched great, and the “w” went to Shawn Kelley, who did not. Robertson got the save – I feel as if it’s been ages since I saw him on the mound – and the Yankees halted their skid. Whew. Fun game to watch except for Solarte’s adventures in the infield.
These west coast games are interesting for us here in NY. I watch the beginning of the game live and then when I get up early the next day its on Yankee Replay so I get to see the rest of the game. It was nice to pull out a win – it is sad that Kuroda couldn’t get the win but I’m sure he’s just relieved to have a good outing. Roberts…yeah, glad to see he’s finally going to deliver – the expression on his face celebrating with his team mates after the homer was adorable. Anyway, hope they get on a long line of wins now. GO YANKEES!!!
I hope it was a confidence booster for Kuroda and for the rest of the team, Diane. They proved they could get the timely hit when they needed it – something they haven’t been able to do.
