HBO’s “Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel” debuts its new season tomorrow night at 10 pm ET/PT with an interview with Reggie Jackson to coincide with the release of Reggie’s new memoir, Becoming Mr. October.

According to HBO’s press release, “Gumbel heads to Yankee Stadium and sits down with the Hall of Famer and outspoken 67-year-old special adviser to the club. The 14-time All-Star opens up about his personal life and storied career, offering insights into race relations during his playing days and the magical ā€˜77 and ā€˜78 seasons that cemented his legacy as one of the greatest clutch sluggers.”

I like Bryant Gumbel’s interviews and he was terrific to me years ago when I was on the “CBS Early Show” promoting my novel, The Secret Ingredient. We even talked about the Yankees in the interview. Take a look. (I’m sucking on a throat lozenge during the entire interview!)

Anyhow, it’ll be quite a doubleheader tomorrow night since I’ll be watching the re-broadcast of “Being: Mariano” on FOX Sports 1 earlier in the evening.

Checking in on the she fan from Freeport Maine. Red Sox mania all over Mass. and Maine. Drove up here in my car with its new Ct license plates “NY-YANKS”. Just arrived last week. Many stares and other various recognitions. I have brought minimal Yankee gear (can’t hide the license plate) with me but I did buy a Cardinal hat to wear. I will be cheering for a team with red sox—Cardinals.

Reggie clip reminded me of sitting near right field foul pole that October night. Still one of my biggest Yankee experiences.

Hi John. You really do like to live dangerously! If the Red Sox win the World Series, you’ll be right in the thick of the celebration. Have fun.

I don’t know about you but between the headlines, Drink it Now, Soon a Global Wine Shortage” and “The Red Sox World Series Champs”
I want to take to my bed and pull the covers over my head.
How much more can a girl take Jane?

Haha, Peg. I think the wine shortage problem is far more alarming! I was panicked when I read that yesterday.
