Euwww!

April 7, 2012

Okay, so this season is not getting off to a great start.

  1. Kuroda was scarily unimpressive.
  2. Eduardo Scissorhands made an error – already.
  3. Rapada should only pitch to lefties and he should only get them out.
  4. Somebody besides Nick Swisher should have a pulse.
  5. That Yankee fan who interfered with Longoria’s non-homer was annoying.

Yes, I’m being harsh. But tonight’s game reminded me that I really don’t like losing. I especially don’t like losing two in a row. And I really, truly don’t like losing on a night when Josh Beckett gives up five homers in Detroit.

That’s all I have to say on the subject, other than that I can’t wait until we’re out of the Trop. It’s hard to breathe when the Yankees play there.

Well that guy who caught the non-home run ball was some sort of hybrid fan. He wore a Yankee jersey, but had a Tampa Bay hat and t-shirt. So who knows where his allegiances truly lie and what his real intent was? lol. Pick a team! You can like both, but if you’re going to a game between the two teams, pick one to root for! (life isn’t supposed to be that easy! …and that’s why Karma kicked him out of the game.)

Ugh… I get the feeling Kuroda needs to study more on these scouting reports. I think he’ll do alright for us, he just needs to figure out who these hitters are. But boy, he’s going to need to cram really hard before his first start in Boston. Otherwise he’ll figure out real quick that 37ft monster behind him is no friend of his.

But take heart, Jane! The last time the Yankees started 0-2 was in 2009. And we all know how that year ended up. And then we have the whole Kentucky basketball thing too. So we have two omens working for us! Ahh, the brighter side of things! A brand new YankeeCase!! :D

(although negative, downer YankeeCase may rear his ugly mug if the Yankees get swept to start the season… uh-oh, spaghetti-o’s!)

Ugly, ugly game. Nice rally in the 9th to make the final score close, but what happened in the first 8 innings? I know TB is a good team, and they are at home, but… ugh.

Well, the ’98 Yanks started 1-4, but in the postseason they went 11-2. Hopefully this team plays well when it matters.

Anyway… tomorrow a chance to avoid getting broomed. And at least Boston got their clocks cleaned. So SOMETHING positive happened anyway.

ACK (sorry Case maybe you should copyright the word but it certainly applies here), that was a disappointment. Hope this isn’t an omen that Kuroda is unable to handle the offenses of the AL East. It is certainly not the NL West. Probably not though as poor control like that and he would have gotten lit up anywhere. The shifts took away some balls in play that possibly could’ve been hits. But just like last night, 6 runs is usually more than enough to win if the pitching is at least adequate. Now we must rely on Hughes to avoid the sweep. I don’t know if I can trust him yet until I see him pitch well. Last year still lingers in the back of my mind.

Euwww is right, but I take heart in the tag line of today’s NY Times article – the last time the Yankees started 0-2 was 2009. Lots to be fixed, but too soon to panic.

True about the hybrid fan, YankeeCase. Either way, he needs to learn that you don’t reach out to grab the ball unless your name is Jeffrey Maier! So you think Kuroda just needs to watch more video? Doesn’t he have Russell Martin to tell him what to throw? I think – and have always thought – that although he’s a warrior who didn’t get much run support with the Dodgers, the AL East is a huge adjustment. That worries me. And while I know things will get better, I don’t believe in the whole Kentucky thing!

Yes, something positive happened, Sean K. I loved the late rally. So maybe the bats will work today and Hughes will put us in a good position to take the finale.

Way too soon to panic, Ladyjane. But watching them lose is not entertaining and I’d like some entertainment!

Ah, the shifts, Leo. I’m glad you mentioned them. They’re a problem unless our guys can figure out how to hit the ball to parts of the field that they don’t normally hit the ball to! I hear you about Hughes, but he had a great spring – unlike CC and Kuroda, so I’m optimistic.

Well this has been a miserable weekend. What now? Some guys are hitting like pros(i.e. Swisher, A-Rod, Jeter, and a couple others) while others are lost like Granderson, Tex, CC, and a couple of others. Something good better happen when they are in Baltimore. Something. Anything. Please?

Baltimore has been playing well, SBlue, so the boys really need to turn it up a notch after this weekend’s fiasco.
