That’s what the Yankees do at this time of year – just vacuum up all these players who are discarded by other teams. In this latest round of dust bunnies, take a look at the Tommy John recovering David Herndon…
…and Aussie mate Josh Spence.
I’m always skeptical when we round up these castoffs, but some of them have turned out well so you never know.

I have no clue if this is a good deal or a bad deal…the only thing that usually worries me when a pitcher comes from the NL to the AL is obviously the fact that they get the pitch to pitchers in the NL. Obviously Herndon will see a lot more good hitters if he stays in the AL.
Changing the subject…I’m so excited for your new book, Jane. Can’t wait!!!
I’m excited about it too, Diane. I spoke to Mary at Tecolote yesterday and we’re all set for your copy!
Throw them against the wall, and see if they stick. If they do, the do. If not, oh well. Maybe it can be written off as a recycling expense.
Hopefully Cashman will unearth some good players at the meetings that just started today, NYL. We shall see…….
