Sounds Like The Wrong Rodriguez Was Good

I only listened to parts of the game tonight, as I was coming and going from dinner out with friends. When I heard John and Suzyn say that Rodriguez hit a big homer, I figured it was A-Rod.

Wrong. It was Sean, the guy who hadn’t been hitting for the Rays. He picked a swell time to pull himself out of a slump.

I guess Nova kept blowing leads? And the offense couldn’t put Shields away after getting to him early?

I really hope the Yankees salvage the series tomorrow or they’ll head to Boston on a nasty little downward slide.

Happy 4th, people.

Tropicana Field has become a nightmare house for us. That’s 9 losses in a row there, including a sweep by the Rays to start the year. Arrrggghhh….

Tomorrow doesn’t look good either. We have to beat Price.

Hopefully we hammer the Red Sux.

It’s now officially July 4 on the East Coast. Happy Independence Day all!

I hate the Trop – my own memories of the place are not pleasant and apparently the Yanks’ aren’t either. Suzyn whines about the cowbells and noise throughout games played there – not that I blame her. I’m also starting to dislike the Ray and their fans (all six of them) as much as I do the Sox. This year, they’ve been far harder on us. I find it interesting that we’re continually told “The Rays have not offense” yet they always seem to have plenty of offense when they play us!

  4. Jane Heller says:

Yikes, Sean. I didn’t realize we’ve lost nine in a row at the Trop. Horrible! I do think we have a chance against Price, because we’ve beaten him before, but we can’t let them steal so many bases.

I hear you on the “the Rays have no offense” thing, Audrey. Everybody keeps saying it and yet they seem to score plenty of runs against our pitchers. The worst thing about this road trip is having to go straight from the Trop to Fenway.

  5. Audrey says:

Don’t worry about going to Fenway, Jane. We can conquer the Red Sox Nation right on their own battlefield.

  6. Jane Heller says:

If you say so, Audrey. But the sloppiness the Yanks displayed in last night’s game was atrocious!

Dear Jane & Fellow Baseball Fans….

I’m leaving for a day of fun with family and friends but before I left I wanted to wish everyone a happy &
safe 4th of July. Take a moment to remember all those that are fighting so that we are able to celebrate this holiday in freedom. I am truly thankful this holiday because the bosses gave us the rest of the week off …woo hoo !!!

As for the Yankees …hopefully they can make some fireworks of their own and beat the Rays today to snap that horrible loss streak at the Trop. Afterwards it’s off to Boston where I’m praying for a beatdown in beantown.

    Anyway …whatever you do today …ENJOY !!! HAPPY 4th of July !!!

    Go Yankees 2012 !!!

Happy 4th to everyone!! Having people over tonight at 7:00, so I’ll be chopping, bakeing, and cooking with the game (and the A/C!! thank Jeter) on in the background. Let’s get this one and head into Boston ready to pick each other up from this horrible beat down in the Trop….hate. the. trop.
