I’m moving – as in right this minute – and will have to take some time off from the blog to deal with the joys (not!) of packing, moving and unpacking over the next week or so. Michael and I decided we were done with winter in CT and are making the switch to FL (St. Pete) full time. The good news, aside from no more snow, is seeing the Yankees at Steinbrenner Field in Tampa and whenever they play the Rays at the Trop.
While I’m off the grid, I’ll be checking scores and hoping for all good things for our boys.
Back soon!
Hey Jane. Congrats on the move and getting away from the ugly NE winters. I hope your move is going as smoothly as it can go. We had another Janer last night. Exactly what we needed since Tanaka wasn’t very good. He gave up his homers again and labored against a weak offensive team. The offense was great though and Gleyber continues to impress. It’s still very early in his career but I love his good eye and ability to make adjustments on the fly which many veterans have a tough doing. To have a multi homer game that young and be compared to Mantle? That’s fantastic company.
I caught a bit of the game while packing, Leo, and Gleybar was spectacular! Very excited about him. And yes, another Janer!
Good luck to you and Michael in your move. It’s another big change, but the winters must have been very tough. May you be able to relax and enjoy life more…
Good luck, Jane! We moved 2x in 2 yrs… not easy with stuff! Hope to see you at the Trop next time we venture in from Jacksonville, but not that much to look at Rays-wise anymore, esp. after yesterday’s jerk trade.
Hey, Renee. So you’ve moved twice recently? Not fun, is it. Our truck broke down in NC and we have no idea when our stuff will get to St. Pete. Grrrrrrr. But we did get tickets for Rays-Yankees on June 22. Come on down!
Hey Jane. I hope your move has gone well and that you and Michael are settled nicely at FL. Just our luck with the team with yet another rainout. Losing off days and playing so many doubleheader’s during the dog days of summer is going to be really tough and is never fun. I think we should be okay provided we don’t have any major injuries because we have good depth but we’ll see. *crosses fingers tightly on the no injuries front*
Leo, thanks for checking in about the move. It wasn’t the easiest, but the worst is over and we’re settling in. We even hung pictures today, so that’s progress! As for the Yanks, I want full credit for Stanton’s nice day at the plate yesterday, including the homer after his drought. I wrote on Facebook about I couldn’t imagine how he ever hit 59 homers last year, given how he’s played so far in NY. He must have heard me! Haha. Anyway, these rainouts are going to make for a very jam-packed schedule for the Yanks, and the players will need to be rested. Another arm – Cole Hamels, Cole Hamels, Cole Hamels – would be great. And, as you say, no injuries!!!
That’s great to hear, Jane. Moving is always such a pain and some progress is always better than nothing! Today begins the first of many doubleheaders. Make another Facebook post about Stanton or heck also for Sanchez and Didi to light a fire under them! I need more Janers and less too close for comfort games. Good for the bullpen and my heart!
I agree, Leo. No nail biters, just Janers!
