No, it’s not the end for the Yankees this season – there’s one more game in Toronto and then the Boston series to come – but the way the Yanks were shut out (or nearly) for the entire weekend against the Blue Jays was gruesome and essentially looked like they’d given up, the end is going to feel like a nail in the coffin soon enough. Oy, the bullpen. Ditto: the lack of offense.
What can I say that’s positive? CC pitched well. So did Pineda. That’s something.
And Gary Sanchez merchandise is selling well, I hear. I may even buy a Sanchez T-shirt.
But that’s about it.
I’m looking forward to next year, to a fresh start. So let the last few games begin so we can close the book on this less-than-stellar chapter in Yankees history.
