Last night I went to the wedding reception for my author friend Gayle Lynds (check out her web site over on the links list) and the wonderful man she met and fell for via Facebook, of all places. It was such a happy occasion and everybody at the party was in a festive mood. In particular, I had a blast hanging out with Kate Schwab, who was a VP of marketing at Borders here in SoCal before the company went down the toilet. We were both a little wine-impaired.
Speaking of weddings, I LOVE the T-Mobile commercial featuring the royal look-alikes dancing down the aisle.
The woman who impersonates Camilla Parker-Bowles is such a dead ringer for the real thing that I had to watch the video twice just to make sure I wasn’t hallucinating.
The whole craze of people dancing down the aisle at their wedding, which began with the couple dancing to Chris Brown’s “Forever,” makes me wish I could have a do-over. I’d totally dance down the aisle at my wedding. The only problem is Michael, who hates dancing and would probably stand there looking mortified.
wow that does look like Camille! Sounds like you had a wonderful time at the wedding.
I think like your Michael I would be horrified to see my hubby dance down the aisle like this.
And he would most certainly do it.
While this question has nothing to do with the post – why with all their money don’t they have better dental care? Even the Camille look alike had bad teeth. always been curious about that.
Doesn’t she look exactly like Camilla, Peg, right down to the shape of her face? And lol about the Brits and their bad teeth. That’s been something I’ve read and heard about for years, and I have no idea if it’s true that their dental care isn’t good or if it’s just a silly generalization. As far as the Royals, maybe the older generation just didn’t pay much attention to their teeth. The younger ones have nicer smiles.
Sorry I missed this one over the weekend. Glad you had a great time with that Borders lady, whose name is forever confused with mine…I’d have told her how disappointed & depressed I am over the demise of my two fave bookstores, but then again, it’s good that I wasn’t there to say that…
That video is cool & fun…and so right about the Camilla character, altho’ I can’t stand the real one. As for British teeth…yeah, that’s been an issue for as long as I know. British dentistry isn’t too highly regarded, not sure why, but I do know that Brits LOOOVE candy (and jellies & jams too). They have a lot of great candy to choose from — Cadbury’s, all those “Pastilles,” Rountree’s…oh lord…you’re taking me waaay back in time to a summer when we lived over there in the early ’60s, and I partook of every savory flavour. When Austin Powers first came out, his horrible teeth were…perfect!
Candy. Of course! I didn’t think of all their delicious sweets, Dave. Sugar is hell on teeth. I do remember Austin Powers’ teeth and they were pretty funny. Still, it’s kind of a mystery why the Royals, with all their money and access to the best care, wouldn’t see a dentist now and then.
